Forever a student....
The fall of 2017 has flown by as I have spent ten weeks taking an online course entitled "Foundations in Global Education." Before applying to be a fellow in the US State Department's Teachers for Global Education Program,I thought I knew global education. I live and breathe for learning about the world's people. The course material and interactions with other teachers has shown me how much I still have to learn and encouraged me to bring global education to the students and teachers at Dansville. Below is lesson one!
Global education is a lens through which we teach and learn about the world from multiple perspectives. The TGC program has taught me that my students are living in the 21st century and so should be 21st century learners and global citizens.
"Teach to the future...."
Help students:
1. Investigate the world.
2. Recognize perspectives.
3. Communicate ideas.
4. Take action.
What are you as a teacher doing to teach these skills? What can you do better? Leave a comment below!
