The US State Department's English Language Fellow Program recruits trained and experienced U.S. TESOL professionals for 10-month EFL teaching fellowships abroad. 

The Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program (TGC) is a year-long, fully funded professional development opportunity for US elementary, middle, and high school teachers to become leaders in global education. TGC equips teachers to bring an international perspective to their schools through targeted training, experience abroad, and global collaboration.

The Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) provides U.S. teachers and administrators with a fully-funded opportunity to travel to Japan to learn about ESD efforts and strengthen ESD curricula in both countries. ESD is “a vision of education that seeks to balance human and economic well-being with cultural traditions and respect for the earth’s natural resources,” according to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Fund for Teachers provides grants for a broad range of travel, teaching, and learning topics for teachers. Applications open on October 1.

 The NEA Foundation Global Learning Fellowship offers public school educators 12 months of professional development. The NEA Foundation staff, partners, and field experts support Global Learning Fellows as they participate in online coursework, webinars, and peer learning communities, including a two-day professional development workshop in Washington, DC.
